Hello, my name is Nelson O' Donnell, your current Madison County Sheriff, and I am seeking your support in the upcoming May Primary Election.
I am 58 years old and reside at 216 Kanatzar Lane in Richmond, Kentucky. I have been faithfully serving the citizens of the Commonwealth and more particularly Madison County, as an active law enforcement officer for 38 years. Retiring from the Kentucky State Police in July 1993 with twenty years service, I was immediately employed on August 3, 1993, as the only detective for the Madison County Sheriff's Office. I held this position for twelve years until I resigned on September, 30, 2005 to seek the office of Sheriff.
I have been serving as your Madison County Sheriff for the past three years and with your continued support I would be honored to provide the same commitment to excellence as has been displayed throughout my entire career.
Three short years ago I made several campaign promises to the citizens of Madison County. I was not only able to fulfill the promises I made within the first two years of office, but was actually able to accomplish more.
